All Stars Pre-Release Update 1
Hi all,
We’ve been hard at work at this game for the last 5 months. We’re getting to a point where having a consistent user base is going to be the fastest way to grow the game. Here’s the changes we’ve made in the last week.
- Added middle mouse lock options - Target locking has been a challenging thing in free-for-alls, but by moving the target lock onto a “nearest enemy” mode we’ve got a really nice feel to let you target someone. This should especially help on mobile, but additional refinement will be helpful.
- Added character unlock system - Unlocking the characters will give you something to fight for. We’ve also added some new daily + restartable quests to give you something to play for.
- Horizontal projectile input improvements - Previously if you were a new player and didn’t know to aim your camera, you’d end up with really weird input where the rocket and stuff would explode immediately, we’ve fixed that.
What could come in the future?
This is an All Stars game, that means lots of characters from lots of different games. We aren’t sure of this pre-release / soft release is going to work. If it does, that will help us prioritize what we’re working on. If not, we’re try to figure out why, until we have player base. However, here are some updates we’ve got queued, and just need some more time in the oven.
- New characters! We have 2 more characters, from Arsenal and Pressure, that we are working on. And of course, we have more planned.
- Each character needs way more tuning to make them fun - but we also need players to help us figure out if what we’re changing is good.
- Unique maps for each game that we have!
- Directional shielding, more in line with standard battleground games
